12/10/2023 0 Comments Calls going straight to voicemail![]() ![]() So, to receive forwarded calls normally you need to un-link the forwarded number. Everything is turned on in my Cellular settings for accepting calls (Cellular Date, Data Roaming) but still they seem to be going straight to my voicemail. When you follow the instructions to setup GVoice to act as your voicemail on your linked cell phone number, you are just inputting the carrier codes to forward calls to your GVoice number. Your iPhone typically goes straight to voicemail because your iPhone has no service, Do Not Disturb is turned on, or a Carrier Settings update is available. Open Settings and look at the switch next to Airplane Mode. It turns out when you forward a linked number to GVoice it acts as a voicemail service instead of a forwarding service. When your iPhone is too far away to connect to cell towers, or when it’s cut off from the outside world with Airplane Mode, all calls go straight to voicemail because your iPhone isn’t connected to the cellular network. Everyone who called me went straight to voicemail and I didn't get a missed call notification until hours later when I checked a text. I’ve tried all the troubleshooting with them on the phone and online, none of it has worked. This proves that it isn’t any sitting on the phone and it is the fault of AT&T. ![]() This has happened on my old phone which was a galaxy S 10, my current phone is an iPhone 12. I forwarded my work phone to my GVoice because I was working from home. All incoming calls go straight to voicemail. If it is on any calls from numbers not in your contacts will go directly to voicemail. If one of the following call settings is enabled, don’t be surprised if your incoming calls land directly into your voicemail: Call rejection or block.
